PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Chemtex Pool Clear is an organic polymer clarifier for cloudy swimming pool water. It flocculates the suspended matter a filter cannot catch - dust, pollen, body oils, sunscreen, fine silt and dead algae - into particles large enough for the filter to hold, down to below 0.5 micron. Water that has gone hazy despite a correct chlorine level is almost always this problem, and shocking it again will not fix it.
On commercial volumes that is 500 ml for a 50,000-litre pool, 1 litre for 1,00,000 litres and 2 litres for 2,00,000, increased where turbidity is heavy rather than merely hazy. A 5-litre jar covers about ten treatments of a 50,000-litre pool or five of a 1,00,000-litre one - enough to hold a season of monsoon run-in, dust storms and peak bather load without reordering mid-crisis.
For a club or hotel the alternative is not draining the pool - it is closing it. A commercial pool that fails a clarity check is out of service until it passes, and a shock-and-wait cycle costs days of revenue. A clarifier treatment runs overnight, needs four to six turnovers of the existing pump, and the only follow-up is a backwash. Keep a jar in the plant room for that reason alone.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
- Catches sub-micron particles — Flocculates matter finer than 0.5 micron - the fraction that passes straight through sand and keeps water looking milky at a perfect chlorine level.
- Clear in four to six turnovers — Normally fully clear once the pump has turned the pool volume over four to six times.
- No shock, no draining — Replaces the shock-and-refill routine for cloudy water, which costs a tankerload of water and a week of rebalancing.
- Lifts oils and sunscreen too — Traps body oil, sunscreen and the scum line they leave at the waterline, not just mineral silt.
- Filter-safe polymer — Organic polymer base, compatible with sand, cartridge and diatomaceous earth filters and with chlorine dosing.
HOW TO USE
- Work out your pool volume — Length (m) × width (m) × average depth (m) × 1,000 = volume in litres. A 10 m × 5 m pool averaging 1.4 m deep holds 70,000 litres. Every dose below is per litre of pool water, so this number is the only one you need.
- Measure the dose — 1 litre per 1,00,000 litres: 100 ml for a 10,000-litre pool, 500 ml for 50,000 litres. Increase it if the water is heavily turbid rather than just hazy.
- Dose around the whole periphery — Pour it right around the edge of the pool rather than at one point, so it starts working across the full surface.
- Mix the water — Agitate with a pool wiper or brush pole to get an even mix. The polymer needs to meet the suspended matter to flocculate it.
- Filter for four to six turnovers — Keep the pool out of use for about 3 hours and leave the filtration running. Backwash or clean the filter afterwards - it is now holding everything it collected.
