PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Alstherm MP40 is a single boiler feed water treatment that does four jobs at once: it inhibits corrosion, reduces scale deposition, conditions sludge and scavenges dissolved oxygen out of the feed water. It is an organic blend of organo-phosphonate, softening agent, sludge conditioner and oxygen scavenger, made for low and medium pressure boilers and heat exchangers running on hard feed water.
Typical use concentration is 400 to 600 ppm, varying with feed water quality and the boiler's cycles-of-concentration limits. As a worked figure from the field: a boiler of 850 kg/hr capacity is effectively maintained on 300 g of Alstherm MP40. At 400-600 ppm a 10 kg pack treats roughly 17,000 to 25,000 litres of feed water.
Running one product instead of four is the practical argument. A separate oxygen scavenger, antiscalant, sludge conditioner and corrosion inhibitor means four dosing points, four stock lines and four chances to run out; MP40 replaces them and remains compatible with other treatment chemicals where a plant needs them. Overfeeding it at five times the normal rate poses no hazard, which removes the main risk in a manually dosed boiler house.

HOW TO USE
- Test the feed water — Hardness, alkalinity, dissolved oxygen and TDS all set the dose. Treating without a feed water analysis is guesswork on an expensive asset.
- Set the dose at 400-600 ppm — Pick the point in the range from feed water quality and your boiler water cycles-of-concentration limits. Ask us to work it from your analysis.
- Dose into the feed line or tank — Dose continuously into the feed water line where a pump is fitted, or into the feed tank on a schedule where it is not.
- Monitor boiler water — Track phosphonate residual, alkalinity and TDS on your normal schedule and adjust the dose to hold the range.
- Blow down on schedule — Sludge conditioning only helps if the sludge leaves. Keep to the blowdown routine, or the conditioned solids stay in the boiler.
