PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Chemclean 05 is an inhibited sulfamic acid descaling powder for boilers, heat exchangers, condensers, jackets and coils. It removes the deposits that contaminated feed water leaves on internal surfaces - carbonates, bicarbonates, sulphates and silicates of calcium, magnesium, barium and strontium, plus oxide layers, loose corrosion products, organic foulants, dirt clay and silt.

Make up a solution of 5 to 10% by weight in pre-heated water at 70-80°C, circulate it with an acid-compatible pump, then flush out and rinse with clean water. A 5 kg pack therefore makes roughly 50 to 100 litres of descaling solution. The built-in corrosion inhibitor protects boiler internals from flash rusting after the acid clean, and a wetting agent helps the solution spread into deposits rather than run over them.

It is the practical substitute for hydrochloric acid: far less corrosive, non-flammable, and it gives off no obnoxious fumes, so it can be handled by a maintenance team rather than a specialist contractor. Safe on aluminium, stainless steel, carbon steel, mild steel, cast iron, brass, admiralty metal, titanium, copper and cupric alloys, PVC, plastic, rubber and leather.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

  • Safer than hydrochloric acid — Much less corrosive and easier to handle, with no obnoxious fumes and no flammability - the usual reasons an HCl descale needs a contractor.
  • Corrosion inhibitor built in — Protects boiler internals from flash rusting after the acid clean, so the descale does not cost you metal.
  • 5 kg makes 50-100 litres — At 5-10% by weight, one pack makes enough solution for a small to medium boiler or heat exchanger circuit.
  • Wide material compatibility — Aluminium, stainless and carbon steel, mild steel, cast iron, brass, admiralty metal, titanium, copper and cupric alloys, PVC, plastic, rubber and leather.
  • Wetting agent for better spread — The solution penetrates into hard deposits rather than running past them, and dissolves readily in hot water.

HOW TO USE

  • Isolate and drain the system — Take the boiler or exchanger off line, drain it and isolate it properly. Descaling a live system is how people get hurt.
  • Make up 5-10% by weight — Dissolve the powder in pre-heated water at 70-80°C. Use the higher end of the range for heavy or long-established scale.
  • Circulate with an acid-compatible pump — Recirculate the solution through the circuit. An ordinary pump will not survive it, and the impeller material matters.
  • Flush and rinse — Flush the whole solution out and rinse through with clean water until the effluent runs neutral.
  • Return to service — Inspect, then bring the system back up. Ask us about a passivation step if the circuit will stand idle before restart.
